After burning my fingers yet again on the oven, it was time to explore the Ove Glove. Here's what I found out:

The ove glove has five fingers like a regular glove for ease in manipulating hot objects, so unlike the normal oven mitt, you have more control over it.  The glove will work on either the right or the left hand, so that even though I'm right handed, I can use it on either hand, as can left handed family members. The glove is also machine washable, so that care is easier, and you can keep it clean.

The heat handling capabilities of the glove are one thing that is very important also. When it is exposed to an open flame, the glove does not either catch fire or melt, so that flame resistance makes me feel more secure in using it around flames on a gas powered stove, for example.  The manufacturer claims that it is effective up to 540 degrees, although I don't really want to test that! The ove glove is, however, made of Nomex and Kevlar on the outside and doubleknit cotton on the inside. The surface allows you to handle hot items for a longer period of time that an oven mitt would.   I like this item and would consider it a great purchase if you are constantly burning your fingers like I am.
